There is something special about remembering the wonders of the Lord and the story you can tell about the prophetic journey the Lord takes you on.  There is nothing more important than to remember His amazing hand and heart and to share with others so they too, know of the goodness of the Lord.  This part of our story is the foundation of the our church that was birthed and upon.

“It’s the Father’s heart.  It’s the Father’s heart.”  A man passionately whispered to Greg Lancaster and Pat Hamilton in Washington, D.C. at the Promise Keeper’s event called “Stand in the Gap” where over a million fathers and sons, men came from around the nation, to humble themselves before the Lord, acknowledge our sins, and repent before the Lord.  It was an amazing time to hear over a million men worshiping God so loud you could hear the sound of worship all throughout Washington as we overflowed the Washington Mall into the streets of the city.  As an Ambassador for Promise Keepers, Greg had led many men to join in this multitude to seek our Father and Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.  And he will turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and strike the earth with a curse.”

Malachi 4:5-6 (NKJV)

Out of the large stadium event Promise Keepers were awesome, powerful, and life-changing was birthed the Malachi Mandate; Next Step Outback, also known as the Next Step Fathers & Sons Camping Trips.  For ten years Greg Lancaster never stopped speaking this prophetic word of “turning the hearts of the fathers to the sons and the hearts of the sons to the fathers.”

As the years progressed we expanded, at the father’s request, to the parent son and daughter, Next Step Outback as they wanted to be able to bring their daughters and mothers wanted to bring their children. It was at this point we began to share the importance of making God’s values our priority and taught everyone the Ten Commandments in such a way that they all walked away knowing what they were and being able to share them.  We also imparted to the parents and their children wisdom on parenting, the importance of maintaining a heart of gratitude, God’s expectation of us to have a heart of obedience, and how dependent we are on Jesus Christ for this to be a reality in our lives. It was then we imparted the wisdom of abiding with the Lord. iAbide.org. Let him tell you that story:

It was out of ten years of seeking fathers for the fatherless, building families, and seeking the heart of God to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to the fathers, our church family was conceived. Our church is all about living as the family of God that Father God has called us to and enabled us to be through His Son and our Lord Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.
